Video of my experience during the NFEC 50 miler
NFEC Data from my Garmin 305
So this weekend I spent Saturday and Sunday running the trails up in Marin, just over the Golden Gate bridge. On Sat. the plan was to do 15 miles but after encountering coyotes in the dark at around mile 7 I decided to call it a night. It didn’t help that my calf started to cramp. My fear of animals is deep seated and howling coyotes both in front of you and behind of you didn’t help me conquer that fear.
On Sunday, Preston, Lara, and I started a run at Muir Beach with Preston and I planning doing around 20 miles. Great run where we kept our heartrates consistent. His was under 150 and mine around 135. Poor planning resulted in us running for about 45 minutes in the dark. Luckily, the moon was bright but after Saturday night’s run, I was quite nervous. Luckily we didn’t meet any four legged creatures.
